New 19-story all-electric Class A building for flexible work space. Building also includes a fitness center, outdoor terraces, as well as retail space. Total office rentable square footage is 937,000. Building MEP systems designed to reduce carbon emissions by 70%. Energy modelling required expert analysis for Title 24 compliance and LEED certification. Commissioning of unique heating and cooling plant requireD close coordination with engineers, contractors, and operators.

Healdsburg, California. LEED Platinum, Net Positive Energy and Water, and Living Building Challenge (LBC) v3.0 Petal certification.
NRG Engineering provided LEED Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning and M&V services for this amazing wine production facility with administrative offices, a barrel storage building, building housing a membrane bio-reactor (MBR) for on-site water treatment, wine fermentation, and a public tasting room. Innovative technologies such as CO2 heat pumps, solar thermal, and ammonia/glycol refrigeration system required out-of-the-box thinking to commission the facility for operation on day 1.

Redevelopment of an 18-acre site in Sunnyvale into a creative and innovative campus for a leading-edge technology company. The new 882,857 sf campus includes three 6-story connected buildings, each containing two levels of podium parking and four levels of office space; a one-story, stand-alone amenities building; and a 7-story free-standing parking structure. The third floor of each of the three connected buildings have exterior occupiable spaces at the perimeter of the building, as well as open-to-the-sky courtyards at the core of each sector. NRG Engineering provided energy performance modeling to demonstrate compliance with Title 24 and LEED documentation.

This new campus consists of two 4-story, warm shell ‘Class A’ office buildings totaling 380,039 sq. ft., a 5-level parking structure with a partial green roof, and a 13,656-sq.-ft. fitness space. NRG developed energy performance criteria and modeling to support the City’s sustainability requirements and push toward the owner’s goal of LEED Platinum.

350,000-sq.-ft. tenant improvement at Moffett Towers II class A office space. The TI included office, conference rooms, food service, amenities, and lab spaces. Commissioning included design reviews, submittal reviews, site inspections, and functional testing. Commissioned systems included chilled and hot water systems, hundreds of VAV boxes, kitchen exhaust and makeup air systems, lighting controls, domestic hot water, and BMS.

BUTTE COLLEGE GLENN CENTER
Orland, California. NRG Engineering provided 3rd party commissioning services. The project is a single-story building with classrooms, a science lab, offices, and meeting rooms. Total square footage is 14,350. The commissioning intent was to validate the facility MEP and solar systems operating to the standards of the Butte-Glenn Community College District.

Stockton, California.
Building 1: Large distribution warehouse of approximately 600,000 sf. including 5,700 sf office and 600 sf lab within. Commissioned HVAC and controls systems. Building 2: Approximately 400,000 sf of warehouse space (occupancy S-1), 10,500 sf office space (occupancy B), and 275,000 sf process area (occupancy F-1). The building is full conditioned. Commissioned HVAC, Hazardous Fume Safety Systems, and lighting.

LAKE COUNTY TRIBAL HEALTH
Clearlake, California. Commissioning of this 20,000 sf, 2 story, Type V-B building included HVAC, lighting controls, domestic hot water, and building controls. The clinic provides Medical, Dental, and Behavioral Health services. The building is composed of 14 medical exam rooms, 10 dental operatories and all the related spaces required for service. The clinic is designated as an OSHPD 3 building with various room pressure requirements verified in the Cx process.

MOFFETT TOWERS II

1.8 million-sq.-ft. office development at the former 47.4-acre Lockheed Martin site in Sunnyvale. Development included demolishing 924,500 sq. ft. of existing buildings and constructing five 8-story, 350,633-sq.-ft. office buildings, a 59,211-sq.-ft. amenities structure with swimming pool, an outdoor amphitheater and recreation space, and three parking garages totaling 1M sq. ft. of parking space.
